ABCR Labs' chemical process technology center is located in Forcarei, Spain; a municipality within Spain's picturesque northwest Atlantic coastal region of Galicia.
In this environment, we are able to seamlessly develop and scale-up chemical processes to produce specialty chemicals. We focus on organometallic and silicon chemistries to enhance material's physical properties used in countless industrial and consumer products.

ABCR Labs Leadership
Ben Janeiro
CEO
Ben Janeiro founded ABCR Labs in January 2008. In his current role, Ben Leads the development of the company’s short-term and long-term strategies in alignment with the objectives set by the board of directors and its shareholders.
He brings extensive experience in organosilicon and organometallic process chemistries and product development. Prior to founding ABCR Labs, Ben had roles in manufacturing operations, R&D, product and business development at Hüls America, Harris Specialty Chemicals, Gelest, Applied Microstructures and was a cofounder of ID Diagnostics and Integrated Surface Technologies.
Ben has a chemical engineering degree from the University of Delaware and a master’s in technology management from the Wharton School and School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of Pennsylvania.
Noelia Dios
CFO
Noelia Dios has been a member of the ABCR Labs team since 2010. In her role she manages all the finance, accounting, HR, and IT functions. Noelia has been a key player in all financing rounds since ABCR labs started its manufacturing operations.
Prior to joining ABCR Labs, Noelia worked for Asesores Técnicos Mercantiles, S.A. (Astem) where she gained extensive experience in financial tax accounting, filing for EU grants, and annual financial reports.
Noelia has a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Santiago de Compostela and a master’s degree in business administration and management (MBA) from the Caixanova Business School.
Jose Manuel Lagares
Manufacturing Operations Director
Jose Manuel joined ABCR Labs in 2012 and currently leads the process engineering and manufacturing operations.
Throughout his career, he has gained expertise in chemical process scale-up, optimization, process equipment design, commissioning of reactors and distillation units.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with specialization module in Chemical Processes from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
Javier Feteira
Logistics Director
Javier joined ABCR Labs with the founding team. Since then, he has led the Logistics Department, a center dedicated to enabling the physical flow of our production.
He is a specialist in the transportation of dangerous goods by sea, air and road and is certified in IATA and ADR regulations.
Throughout his career, he has gained extensive experience in logistics operations optimization and team leadership. Javier has a Bachelor’ degree in Public Management and Administration from the University of Santiago de Compostela.
José Manuel Antelo
R&D Director
Jose Antelo joined with the founding team and, in 2012, became R&D Director focusing in silicon, organic and organometallic chemistry. In his current role he leads the process development, scale-up, and analytical method development. His research group plays a key role in growing products from grams to tons.
Jose has a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry from the University of Santiago de Compostela. During his PhD studies, he worked at AQUAGEST Santiago in quality control and the Imperial College of London in the catalysis group.
Regina Janeiro
Commercial Director
Regina Janeiro joined ABCR Labs in October 2009. Currently, she heads the Sales & Purchasing teams and leads the coordination between customers, manufacturing, supply chain and logistics operations.
Regina has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Rider University. Prior to moving to Spain to work for ABCR Labs, she worked in Customer Service in several different industries in the US.
Miguel Valle
Projects Director
Miguel joined ABCR Labs in 2009 as Project Manager. In his role he coordinated the construction of the manufacturing facilities.
As Project Director, Miguel manages all departments’ projects in accordance with regulatory requirements and ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards and policies.
Miguel is a Technical Architect degree from the School of Technical Architecture from the University of La Coruña.

Engineering & Project Management
Our project management team is responsible for plant operations and regulatory compliance, keeping all AAI requirements updated. They also work closely with customers in defining the project's objectives, identifying, planning all the activities to be carried out, the resources to be put into play, the deadlines and tracking the budgeted costs.
The maintenance group conducts routine preventive maintenance for all production equipment, services, utilities and reparations. The project manager has full responsibility for designing, executing capital projects, installations, new facility improvements, and production equipment to implement new capabilities.

About Us
Sales & Purchasing
Our customer service and purchasing department is fully integrated into the manufacturing and R&D operation from the time a request is received until the product is shipped. They are responsible for coordinating and tracking production schedules. This allows ABCR Labs to maintain an open communication with our customers and efficiently expedite orders.

Administration
The finance and accounting department has the responsibility for making sure that the numerous details regarding terms and conditions of sales and purchase and custom declarations are in order to efficiently expedite product shipments to our customers.

Research and Development
Where the process starts: Product and process development takes place here. We carryout custom syntheses, explore new synthetic routes and develop chemical processes for scale-up and commercialization. A state-of-the-art laboratory with capability to analyze, run reactions and distillations up to 22 liters in volume.
The R&D department consists of a highly skilled chemical process development team specializing in discovery of innovative organometallic and silicon process chemistries. The groups are headed by one PhD material science engineer, four PhD chemists, one PhD analytical chemist and their respective laboratory technicians. They develop the products and processes for scale-up and commercialization. With an open innovation approach for ongoing process improvement, it creates an ideal environment for the exchange of ideas and knowhow with our customers.

Logistics
ABCR Labs Logistics' is formed by four functional-level departments: shipping & receiving, analytical services, warehouse services and waste management. These provide the key services to the manufacturing and R&D operations.
The logistics department is at the heart of ABCR Labs manufacturing and R&D operations. With the facility's functional operations design, the integrated workflow moves in a seamless fashion from receiving raw materials to shipping products.

Manufacturing Operations
ABCR Labs operates its manufacturing operations 24/7, 350 days per year.
Our manufacturing operations department is headed by a process engineering team who manages seven production shifts supervisors, twelve chemical operators and twelve operators.
The process engineering team has responsibility for H&S, process engineering, process operations, inventory control, standard operating procedures and hazardous training. The team headed by four chemical engineers is responsible for production management and cost reduction via ongoing process technology improvement. They achieve this by optimizing chemical processes to improve reactor yields, isolated product yields, operational efficiency, waste minimization, raw material and solvent recycling. They also work closely with the R&D groups during scale-up of new products and transfer of new chemical process technology to the pilot plant and commercial production facilities.
